After the introductions of the members of the team to the Management of the Radio station, His Grace, Archbishop Emmanuel A. Ekuri, started his speech by saying that BCS is a Christian Organisation that believes in practicalizing the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ. He added that it is, indeed, the New Kingdom of God established on earth in answer to the Lord’s Prayer recorded in Matthew 6: 9-13.
He also gave highlights of the programmes of the BCS Peace March, such as the Peace Conference, Peace Seminar, Peace Procession, and signing of Peace Accords, even as he emphasized the importance of the media role in promoting these programme. He extended the invitations to members of the fourth estate to attend the Peace Conference. BCS literature was handed out to the Management and staff.
The Head of Programmes, Empire 104.5 FM, Mrs. Adeola Olatunsin, who was visibly delighted, welcomed the BCS Peace advocacy team. She affirmed the necessity of the duo to collaborate, promising to offer all support necessary whenever called upon. She agreed with the importance of the Gospel of Peace at these turbulent times, even as she added that theirs is a profit-oriented organization, therefore, the relationship must be symbiotic.
