It was the talk of the town as the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was a beehive of activities to mark the evangelical retreat of the Universal Men’s Fellowship as men, in their numbers, arrived the Garden City for a 5-day evangelical mission.

Christened “Peace, the Key to World Unification”, the event climaxed with a Peace conference held at the Rivers State Ecumenical Center. Patriarch Christ Shepherd Sylvester Eboigbe, the International Chairman of the Fellowship, who led other National and State Executives to the event, recorded success in all the activities in the itinerary of the event.

Among activities carried out were; Open-air service, a visit to Royal Fathers, Corporate Evangelisms, a Solemn procession, and the maiden edition of the State of the Fellowship Global General Assembly.

One of the places visited by the team was the University of Port Harcourt, where they had an interaction with the members of staff and also engaged the students in a poetry competition that revolved around peace. They also visited Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, and equally engaged the students in competitive exercises where the winners received mouth-watering prizes.

The Chairman and his crew embarked on Corporate evangelism, the highpoint of the event, where they paid visits to some military and paramilitary authorities in the State, as well as some traditional rulers, where the message of peace was preached to them, and some literature of the Kingdom given to them.

At the State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the BCS envoys were received by the State commander, Mr. Salisu Galadanuchi, where he commended the leadership of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in supporting the fight against crime and upholding the laws of the land through their teachings of love and peaceful coexistence.

Also visited was the Department of State Security, Rivers State Command, where the team was received by the Head, Mr. Tosin Ajayi. He also appreciated the body for the visit and assured that his men will imbibe the teachings of love and peace.

Homage was equally paid to HRM Eze Opurum, a traditional ruler, in his palace. The monarch, who is the head of the Traditional Rulers’ Fellowship in the BCS, upon receiving the emissaries in his palace, pronounced blessings, and peace on the entourage and the Fellowship as a whole.

In his address, the National Chairman of Jyprabneb, the host Nation, Bishop Ngere Tetenwi, said the retreat aims at reuniting man with the original peace for global unification. According to him, there could not have been any better time to discuss a way forward, rather than the sons of God coming together to chat a road map for peace. While he appreciated all for turning up for the event, he beckoned on everyone to return to the instructions and teachings of the Holy Father on peace.

The State Administrator, PCS Sokipriye Wokoma, in his address, commended the UMF Int’l for the vision to establish peace in the nooks and crannies of the world, adding that it was a step in the right direction. He reminded participants that the State Headquarters of Rivers State was pronounced as the Port of Peace by the Holy Father in 2012, and therefore, it isn’t a coincidence that the event is held in the city. He called on members of various interdenominational bodies to always preach the message of peace to their congregations.

On his path, the International Chairman, PCS Sylvester Eboigbe described this year’s edition as one of a kind as the message centers on peace, a virtue he said is lacking in the world. He called on all participants to reflect on the teachings of the Father on peace and retrace their steps unto the path of morality.

The Holy Father, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, the King of Kings and Lord of lords, in His advice and blessings, pronounced peace upon the inhabitants of the earth. He charged members of the Fellowship never to relent in spreading the gospel of the New Kingdom to the dying world. He noted that it is the responsibility of everyone to take the message of peace to all nooks and crannies.

Represented by the International Chairman of the Spirited Children’s Fellowship, PCS Basil Cyril, the Holy Father also used the opportunity to inform all members of another Mega Peace Conference set to hold in Ondo State.

The retreat, which was the third edition, had its maiden edition at Lagos(Skolonzko), second at Abuja(Kekodekak). This year’s edition was graced by top clergymen, both in BCS and outside.

Thank You, Father.
