The leadership of the Universal Men Fellowship, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, has concluded plans to engage Nigerian youths in intensive skill acquisition training and offer scholarship grants to deserving beneficiaries.

The International Chairman of the Fellowship, Patriarch Christ Shepherd Sylvester Eboigbe, made the disclosure when addressing pressmen recently in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during a media briefing to flag off this year’s international retreat of the Fellowship.

He stated that the scheme will have over 50,000 beneficiaries before it is rounded up, and it is also establishing a scholarship scheme to support undergraduates as a way of discouraging many from tilting towards nocturnal activities.

While reeling out the proposed activities for the 3-day annual retreat, the Fellowship headsman expressed hope that the national and international bodies of the Fellowship shall converge and participate to fine-tune arrangements for the social and human capital developments and also appraise themselves.

PCS Eboigbe said: “Apart from the outlined evangelical activities, we have the projects of empowering the youths as well as encouraging many with scholarships… We are looking at empowering no fewer than 50,000 youths in technical, vocational, and academics irrespective of faith or nativity”.

The Chairman revealed that the empowerment exercise started last year when twenty primary and secondary school students and over thirty others acquired technical skills. He further added that the retreat in Rivers State would grant them the opportunity to dissuade youths and politicians from criminal and violent activities and emphasize love and forgiveness amongst Nigerians as the election draws closer.

Thank You, Father
