Beams of joy filled the air amongst parents and handlers of the Christ Universal Children’s Fellowship as no fewer than thirty of them benefitted from the Fellowship’s maiden Empowerment and Welfare Scheme.
The Scheme was one of the activities to mark the 44th anniversary of the Fellowship held at the BCS World Headquarters, 34 Ambo Street, Calabar, Cross River State.
Presenting cheque and other items to beneficiaries, the International President of the Fellowship, Her Eminence Patience Olwora, encouraged them to make judicious use of the funds as according to her, the empowerment was to assist them start up micro businesses for themselves or fuel already existing ones.
Her Eminence Olwora noted that beneficiaries were carefully selected from various States and Nations with regard to their contributions to the Fellowship. The International President who sponsored the scheme also advised the handlers, who were basically students in Tertiary Institutions, not to relent in their services to the Fellowship as the grant awarded them was to motivate them to effectively carry out of their obligations.
Stressing on the need for parents to always release their wards for Sabbath gatherings, Her Eminence Olwora, called on guardians and handlers to be awake to their responsibilities emphasizing that the children are the treasures of the New Kingdom and must be well groomed for effective Kingdom service.
Gladdened over the development, some of the beneficiaries, who spoke to the New Kingdom Trumpet shortly after receiving the grants, expressed gratitude to the Holy Father for the favor. While they promised to make adequate use of the funds, beneficiaries prayed the Holy Father to bless the International President for her spirit of benevolence.
The Scheme is promised to be an annual one as new sets of beneficiaries will be picked by the Fellowship for the 2021 Anniversary Celebration.
Funds disbursed for different categories ranges from one hundred thousand naira to four hundred and fifty thousand naira.
Thank You Father.
