He is now a bonafide indigene of Biakpan… Elders
Bishop-Elect Victor Lolomari, an outstanding philanthropist in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star has been honored with an indigenous title of ‘Onun Ogun’ meaning Prince of light from the Traditional Rulers in conjunction with the elders and youths of Biakpan community in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Lolomari who is of the famous Kalabari tribe of Rivers State, Nigeria bagged the honour when he celebrated his golden jubilee birthday at the Holy land of Biakpan with both leaders and inhabitants of the community.
Dedicating the award to the philanthropist, the Paramount Ruler of the area, Onun Bassey Enun described Lolomari as a man with a big heart. He added that with his spirit of generosity, Biakpan indigenes are glad to have him as one of their own.
The Paramount Ruler who appreciated the celebrant for choosing to celebrate his birthday at the Holy Land prayed for more fruitful years and wished him the grace to continue in his good works which, according to him, is pleasing in the sight of God.
Onun Bassey, who was speaking through the Chief in charge of lands and properties, Chief Ekpeyong Mbaba at the Onorowanza playground, venue of the celebration, in reciprocation of the gesture displayed by the golden jubilee celebrant emphasized that it was necessary for the community to honour him with the title of Prince of Light. In his words, ”because he has acknowledged Biakpan as the birthplace of the Supreme Light and has come here to celebrate with indigenes of the community. I make bold to declare him the Prince of light because his Father, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu is the King of Light”.
Ezekiel Unoh, the Youth Leader of the Community, who also spoke during the event described Lolomari as a man of the people even as he supplicated for the grace of God upon him and family.
Speaking on behalf of the Executives and members of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star brethren from Rivers State who joined the train to the Holy City for the celebration, the State Administrator, Archbishop Dagogo Obene, expressed gratitude to the elders, youths, women wing and every indigene of the community for honoring the event and turning up in good numbers to celebrate their very own.
Archbishop Obene who expressed over joy over the new title given to the celebrant disclosed that his decision to celebrate his birthday is in fulfillment of his earlier promise to Leader Obu that when he is rich, he would contribute his quota to the development of Biakpan and because the promise was done in Biakpan some 25 years ago, he has chosen to celebrate his 50th birthday in the Holy City as a mark of respect to where his wealth originated from.
He said the celebration had become imperative as it in his own way of thanking the Holy Father for making him successful. The State Administrator further encouraged his audience to believe in the one who has come in this last era to salvage man and lead man into the accurate knowledge of the truth.
Reacting, the celebrant Bishop-Elect Victor Lolomari, who was filled with ecstasy, appreciated the good people of Biakpan for the explicable show of love to him. He requested the continuous blessings of the Holy Father to all and sundry.
The Golden Jubilee celebrant who was reacting to the honor accorded him, thanked the Traditional Rulers and members of the Community Council for such magnanimity promising to always identify with the people of Biakpan even as he has been made an indigene of the land.
Also speaking with New Kingdom Trumpet Newspaper in an interview conducted shortly after the celebration, the business tycoon revealed that the essence of celebrating his 50th birthday at Biakpan was to honor the Holy City as it was the ground where the Holy Father pronounced him a successful man when he was practically poor.
He told our correspondent that the celebration was again to thank the Father for sustaining him till date despite plans by the evil ones to wipe him off.
According to him “there is no better place for me to celebrate this feat of mine rather than my home which is Biakpan, my blessings were pronounced here, and I have come to celebrate with Him who has made me who I am today,” he added.
The event, which was well attended by well-meaning indigenes of the area as well as several BCS brethren from Rivers State and other well-wishers, showcased activities such as the cutting of the golden jubilee cake, cultural displays, choreography by Biakpan Sabbaths, special renditions by the CNCF Biakpan body among other musical concerts from notable artist within and outside the fold.
