Delighted over their commitments and dedicated services to the growth of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in Rivers state and the world at large, Town Zone BCS of Rivers state has been guaranteed immense blessings, in all their endeavours, by the Heavenly Father, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu.

Addressing members of the Zone during their annual get-together/award’s night held at the Zonal Headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, recently, the Heavenly Father, who was represented by 144,000 Virgin Sister Margaret Momo, encouraged the zone to keep the flag flying for His sustained favour.

The Zonal Administrator, Bishop-Elect Sokipriye Wokoma, in his welcome address, relayed all thanks to the Holy Father for always honoring their invitation, for four times now, since the institution of the event. He pledged to always reciprocate the gesture by mapping out better blueprints that will help promote, even further, the work of the Father in the Zone.

Wokoma, who also thanked the Father for imbuing the virtue of gratitude in the minds of the members, supplicated that the virtue is maintained for in his words “God is always pleased with a thankful heart”.

The Chairman of the Occasion, Bishop-Elect Matthew Ebirien, who was ably represented by His Grace, Archbishop Ibifubara Nengia, in his opening remarks, thanked the Father for the ability given to the members to gather again in one accord in thanksgiving.

He lauded the efforts of the planning committee, headed by DV Ibinabo Igbikialabo, for their efforts in planning the event from its inception.  He also reminded participants that the event is all about thanking God for His mercies, taking care of every member of the Zone and also enhancing the administration of the zone.

Present during the event was the State Administrator, Archbishop Dagogo Obene, and other members of the State Executive Council who welcomed the arrival of the Father’s Entourage to the State.

The event which was tagged “Encomiums of Gratitude” with its slogan ‘Our Thanksgiving is perpetual’ is the fourth edition of the annual Celebration which holds on the 26th Day of December every year and began in the year 2016.

Highlight of the event was award presentations to deserving members of the zone, which were as follows: Most Supportive Bethel Award- Peace Bethel; Most Supportive Fellowship Award – Zonal Mercy Fellowship; Best Performing Mother- BMD Philomina Jackbara; Best Performing Bethel Administrator – Sis Azuanima Koko; and the Best Performing Fellowship Head – Apostle N.S Olu-Douglas.

Others were: Most Active Core EXCO member- Deaconess Patience Nathan, Zonal Financial Secretary; Most Active Bethel Priest- CPS Fidel Sunday; Most Active Member in the Zone(Male)- Bro Olari Maclean; and, Most Active member in the Zone( Female)- BMD Agatha Godhead.

In the choral category, the winners were as follows: Song of the Year- Rejoice Oh! Ye Earth by Peace Bethel Choir; Choir of the Year- Peace Bethel Choir; Music Conductor of the Year- Sis. Nengi Elekima James; Organist of the Year- Bro. Happy Elvis Oyika; Most Active Chorister of the Year- Bro John E. John; and Best Officiating choir- 125 Aggrey Road Cathedral Choir.

CULTURAL PERFORMANCE BY TOWN ZONE SABBATH DURING THE EVENT

Side attractions during the event included welcome performances by The Town Zonal mass Choir, cultural displays by Sabbath and women, the cutting of the cake and performances by top BCS artists who thrilled the excited members and guests.
